It all started 10 years ago when I stumbled upon a video about ingrown toenails. It felt like watching a horror movie; I even saw some pretty gruesome ones. My wife teased me about watching weird things on my phone late at night, and she stopped looking over my shoulder. But during those deep dives, I came across a video of a professional ingrown toenail treatment from South Korea. It was incredibly meticulous and satisfying to watch. I was thrilled: 'So that's how they lift it!' 'Is it really okay to cut a nail like that?!' 'Wow, that lifted up so much!' Since I also had slightly ingrown nails that would occasionally fester, I copied them — pulling them up and pouring Makiron (disinfectant) on them. I gradually started buying ingrown toenail care tools, and I even bought my dream nail tension-traction device! Thinking other people might want them too, I ordered 50 of them. Literally nobody wanted one. That was when I happened to look at my wife's toes. They were curved. Absolutely curved. That marked the start of the battle between my wife and her ingrown toenails. She originally had flat feet and didn't realize her toes were ingrown. She occasionally felt pain, but thought it was her soles, not her nails. One day she complained of foot pain, and when I asked to see her nails, they looked red. She said the pain was elsewhere, but when I touched her toe — extreme pain! She was shocked. When I gently spread the skin of her nail, there was pus... I suggested pouring some Makiron on it, but she was still skeptical, doubting it was her nails and thinking something else was wrong. She probably couldn't imagine a simple toenail hurting that badly. I experience it too — your whole front half of the foot hurts. I told her the pain would fade in two days, and she went to sleep half-believing me. The next day, the pain was virtually gone. She finally believed me! From there, I taught her about ingrown nails. We discussed whether to go to a clinic or do daily care, and she happily let me take care of them. When I look at her curved nails, as you can see in our videos, if I draw eyes on them, don't they look like cute little creatures? Yes, we are having fun like this! Also, I recently built this ingrown toenail check website. Although it's only in English and Japanese, I'd be thrilled if people with ingrown toenails all over the world could use it. There are still areas to improve, so please send an email or DM if you notice anything. Lately, I'm live-streaming almost every day, so please come say hi. I'm waiting for you! ☺️
