About the Operator
makinail.jp is run by “A Husband Who Wants to Cure His Wife's Ingrown Toenail.” I am neither a doctor nor a specialist. I am simply a husband who has spent two years facing my wife's ingrown toenail.
It all started at 2:00 AM. An ingrown toenail correction video appeared on my YouTube recommendations. For some reason, I could not stop watching, and it turned into a nightly obsession. About three months later, I looked at my wife's feet and realized: “Wait, isn't this an ingrown toenail?”—She felt no pain and had never even noticed it. The only one who saw it as a problem was me.
From there began endless days of researching and buying gadgets. Correction plates ordered from China came off in three hours. Traction devices worked while worn, but the nail curved right back once removed. Wires were effective, yet reverted within two days. At one point, I overtightened a traction device and cracked her nail plate. In shock and guilt, I halted all care for three months—only to find that it had become inflamed, infected, and was digging straight into her flesh. Doing too much is dangerous; giving up completely is just as bad. I learned that lesson firsthand.
My wife's ingrown toenail is still not completely cured today. Even so, we keep documenting our journey. This website was created as an extension of that continuous record.
